A cartoon hand with the index finger pointing upward.
A woman with pink hair and wearing a black t-shirt with an eclipse graphic is wrapped in red ribbons. She has a red blindfold over her eyes and is seated in front of a painted mural of hills and a castle, framed as a card labeled 'VIII' at the top and 'EIGHT' at the bottom, with multiple swords behind her.

EIGHT POSTER REVEAL!

I always imagined I’d recreate the Eight of Swords from the Tarot with this image— but I didn’t expect it to look like this. The original plan didn’t quite pan out. (Isn’t that the way it always is in creative endeavors?) I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something just didn’t feel right. So I played around with some stock photos. Then I went back to basics. Inspired by the Tarot itself, I followed my gut—and prompted a tarot-inspired artwork in Microsoft Copilot, instead of using the set where Eight was filmed as originally intended. Yes, the background is AI. But the intention? To create something dreamlike and symbolic— a visual that reflects the meaning of the card and the heart of the film. Eight is coming soon. I’m so proud of it. And I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve made.

A person with light pink hair sitting on the floor with their knees crossed, wrapped in orange ribbon, wearing a black T-shirt with a cat face, in a living room with a blue couch, a pillow, a window with curtains, and a small blue wooden bed with a teddy bear and toys.

This was the original poster art:

shot on set in the church building where Eight was filmed. The building that inspired this story, and EXIT, and The Bloodline: Ascension of Seraphim
(still in development and seeking investors).

The image is fine. But once I added the swords and the title, everything started to feel crowded. Overwhelming. The blue of the couch clashed with the tarnish on the swords in the Eight logo. Suddenly the teddy bear didn’t look right.
Pieces that are still very alive in the film felt off when placed in the cover art.

While the photo itself works in its unpolished state, it needed something extra for its final version—and that’s how this new poster came to life.

This is the other unused image for the YouTube thumbnail.
The reason this one didn’t get used?
Spot the glasses on the sofa 🤣

A person with purple hair, wearing a black shirt and gray pants, sits cross-legged on the floor with red tape around their arms, chest, and eyes. They are in a living room with a blue couch, floral pillows, a teddy bear in a blue wooden bed, and quilted wall hangings.
